Taxi drivers assaulted in Sevilla and Huelva

Two violent assaults against taxi drivers have occurred in the Spanish cities of Sevilla and Huelva within a four-day period, raising concerns regarding driver safety during night shifts.

In Huelva, a driver required 40 stitches at the Hospital Juan Ramón Jiménez after being attacked by two passengers following a dispute over fare prices. The attackers reportedly seized the vehicle's keys and used a broken glass bottle to inflict injuries on the driver's face and shoulder. The victim is reported to be in stable condition.

In Sevilla, a separate incident occurred last Saturday when a driver was stabbed up to 16 times by a passenger. Despite his injuries, the driver managed to drive to a local police headquarters to seek help. The suspect was placed in provisional prison and is being investigated for attempted homicide.
