Taxi protests in Spain and PSUV mobilizations in Venezuela

In Spain, taxi drivers are intensifying protests against ride-hailing services. In Donostia, hundreds of taxi professionals marched to demand stricter controls on VTC platforms, citing regulatory non-compliance and provocations from VTC drivers. Meanwhile, in Lanzarote, the taxi sector is calling for the local government to expedite studies to regulate the number of VTC vehicles allowed to operate to avoid legal uncertainty and protect local jobs.

In Venezuela, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) organized mass mobilizations in Caracas to commemorate the anniversary of Hugo Chávez’s 2012 electoral victory. These marches led to significant traffic restrictions in central Caracas, including major avenues like Bolívar and Urdaneta. The government has announced a continued agenda of political mobilizations throughout October.
