Taylor Frankie Paul’s ‘Bachelorette’ season cancelled by ABC

ABC has cancelled the upcoming season of ‘The Bachelorette’ starring Taylor Frankie Paul. The decision was made shortly before the scheduled March 2026 premiere following the release of video footage depicting a 2023 domestic violence incident involving Paul and her former partner, Dakota Mortensen.

A spokesperson for Disney Entertainment Television stated that the network decided not to move forward with the season to focus on supporting the family. In response, a spokesperson for Paul stated that she is prioritizing her family’s safety and security after years of mental and physical abuse. Paul has since completed probation for the 2023 case, which saw her aggravated assault charge reduced to a Class A misdemeanor.

Despite the cancellation, Paul has teased further drama regarding her unrecorded season. In a recent social media post, she suggested that more spoilers are forthcoming and alluded to upcoming backlash. While she clarified that she was not intimate with contestants during the ‘Fantasy Suites’ segment, she confirmed that she did get engaged during the filming process.
