Taylor Moton to undergo season-ending surgery
Carolina Panthers veteran right tackle Taylor Moton is set to undergo season-ending surgery following a fractured fibula. The injury occurred during a 43-13 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when teammate Rasheed Walker fell across the back of Moton's legs in the third quarter.
Moton, 32, was scheduled to undergo surgery to repair ligaments in his ankle. This injury marks a difficult setback for the veteran, who had only appeared in two games this season after previously being sidelined by blood clots.
First-round pick Monroe Freeling is expected to return to the starting lineup at right tackle to fill the vacancy. The Panthers are also awaiting updates on Ikem Ekwonu, who is currently recovering from a ruptured patellar tendon.
