Taylor Sheridan's Paramount+ dominance challenged by MobLand 2
Taylor Sheridan remains a dominant force for Paramount+, with his television productions generating an estimated $800 million in subscriber growth and retention. Individual hits such as ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ and ‘Tulsa King’ have each earned between $146 million and $147 million. However, Sheridan is transitioning his focus, having signed a deal with NBCUniversal in 2025 valued at over $1 billion for upcoming film and television projects.
On the Paramount+ platform, the dominance of Sheridan’s content was recently challenged by the debut of the second season of ‘MobLand’, a series by Guy Ritchie. According to FlixPatrol, ‘MobLand 2’ has overtaken Sheridan’s titles, including ‘Lioness’, at the top of the viewership rankings.
Regarding talent retention, actress Zoe Saldaña, who stars in ‘Lioness’, indicated she is not currently interested in crossing over into other Sheridan series. Saldaña cited the heavy workload of serving as both lead actress and executive producer on ‘Lioness’ as the primary reason for her decision.
