Taylor Simone Ledward Boseman contests estate administration battle

Taylor Simone Ledward Boseman, the widow of late actor Chadwick Boseman, has filed court documents opposing a petition by his brothers, Derrick and Kevin Boseman, to remove her as administrator of his estate.

The brothers have alleged that Simone has exercised “complete control” over the estate without sufficient transparency regarding finances, including SAG-AFTRA residual payments and unclaimed property. They have requested the appointment of an outside forensic accountant to manage the estate.

In response, Simone claims she has been generous with the family, stating she has paid Chadwick’s parents more than $1.7 million since 2022 and provided $300,000 from her personal funds to Derrick’s children. She maintains her actions reflect the wishes of her late husband.

The dispute has also extended to a planned documentary about Boseman’s life. Simone, working with Words + Pictures and potentially Searchlight Pictures, alleges that family members have made it difficult to move forward by requesting separate agreements rather than the “Most Favored Nation” structure she proposed to ensure equal treatment.
