Taylor Simone Ledward Boseman fights brothers in Chadwick Boseman estate battle

Taylor Simone Ledward Boseman, the widow of late actor Chadwick Boseman, has filed legal responses to a lawsuit brought by the actor’s brothers, Derrick and Kevin Boseman. The brothers, acting on behalf of their parents, petitioned to remove Ledward as the estate administrator, alleging she failed to distribute assets as required by a 2022 court order.

Ledward’s legal team has characterized the lawsuit as a ‘public-relations stunt to smear Simone in the tabloid press’ and a ‘baseless attack.’ Court documents state that Ledward has distributed nearly all assets, including bank accounts and company shares, noting that one IRA account remains undistributed due to the brothers' own legal actions. Ledward also claims she has been financially generous, including gifting $300,000 of her own money to Derrick’s children.

The dispute also involves disagreements over the actor's legacy, including a documentary project. Ledward has accused the family of creating obstacles for the film's development. Additionally, historical filings show the family previously questioned the circumstances of Boseman's 2020 death, specifically regarding opioid levels found in his system and requests for medical records and digital data.
