Taylor Swift donates $50,000 to woman injured while saving teenager

Taylor Swift has donated $50,000 to a GoFundMe campaign supporting Ashley Taunton, a 42-year-old nursing assistant and mother of three from Connecticut. Taunton was critically injured during a July accident on Interstate 95 in Rhode Island.

Taunton had stopped her vehicle to assist a group of teenagers following a car crash during a heavy rainstorm. While she was attempting to help, a second vehicle hydroplaned and struck the group. Taunton reportedly pushed a teenager out of the way to save them before being hit herself. Her injuries included broken ribs, a ruptured diaphragm, and damage to her liver and spleen, requiring multiple surgeries.

Swift included a personal message with her donation, stating, “I wish you the best possible recovery and send so much love to your family!” Taunton expressed her gratitude on Instagram, calling the singer an “incredible human.” The donation is one of the largest contributions to the fundraising effort, which aims to cover medical expenses and family needs during her lengthy recovery process.
