Taylor Swift donates $50,000 to Rhode Island Good Samaritan

Taylor Swift has donated $50,000 to Ashley Taunton, a mother of three who was critically injured while acting as a Good Samaritan on I-95 in Rhode Island.

Taunton was driving with her youngest daughter when she stopped to assist three teenagers whose vehicle had hydroplaned in wet conditions. While attempting to move the teenagers to safety, Taunton pushed one of the teens, identified as Vinny, out of the path of a second hydroplaning vehicle. Taunton was struck by the vehicle and sustained life-threatening injuries, including internal bleeding, liver and spleen lacerations, multiple rib fractures, and a ruptured diaphragm.

Following the accident, Taunton was admitted to Rhode Island Hospital. The $50,000 donation was made to support her recovery via a GoFundMe and Meal Train campaign. It was later discovered that the teenager Taunton saved was the son of a longtime friend.
