Taylor Swift breaks Spotify records with new album expansion
Taylor Swift has released ‘The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore’, an expanded edition of her 2025 album featuring four new tracks: ‘Patient Zero’, ‘Cleveland!’, ‘Pink Clouding’, and ‘Babylon’. The songs were recorded in Sweden alongside producers Max Martin and Shellback.
Following the release on September 25, 2026, Swift set two Spotify records, becoming the most-streamed female artist in a single day this year, while ‘Patient Zero’ became the most-streamed song by a female artist in a single day for 2026. The lead single, ‘Patient Zero’, explores themes of toxic relationships and emotional recovery.
Swift is also set to premiere the music video for ‘Patient Zero’ at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on September 27. The video, which Swift directed, features actors Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, with cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki. At the same ceremony, Swift is scheduled to receive the ‘Artist Director Honors’ award.
