Taylor Tomlinson leaves CBS show due to health struggles

Comedian Taylor Tomlinson has detailed her decision to leave the CBS late-night show ‘After Midnight’ due to a period of declining health and a fragile immune system. In her book ‘Actually, Nevermind’ and recent interviews, Tomlinson described a cycle of persistent illnesses, including mononucleosis, sinus infections, chest colds, and strep throat.

Tomlinson noted that her health began to deteriorate shortly after she took on the hosting role. Despite efforts to protect herself by wearing masks and taking numerous supplements, she experienced recurring infections every few weeks alongside constant fatigue and body aches. She revealed that doctors initially misdiagnosed her symptoms, with one prescribing steroids before a diagnosis of mono was made. She also mentioned that mold was detected in her blood.

The demands of the late-night filming schedule, which required her to work three days a week and spend the remaining four in bed, made recovery difficult. Tomlinson expressed the emotional difficulty of her decision, which involved canceling tour dates and moving up a Netflix comedy special to manage her condition.
