Taylor Walker to retire from AFL at end of 2026 season

Adelaide Crows player Taylor Walker has announced he will retire from AFL football at the conclusion of the 2026 season. Over a 19-season career, the 36-year-old has established himself as one of the club's most significant figures.

Walker, nicknamed ‘Tex’, has played 316 games and is the Crows' all-time leading goalkicker with more than 700 goals. His accolades include seven club leading goalkicker awards, an All-Australian selection in 2023, and being named the AFL Players’ Association Best Captain in both 2016 and 2017. He served as club captain from 2015 to 2019.

Reflecting on his journey from Broken Hill, Walker stated, "I’m going to leave the game with a great deal of pride, gratitude and a lifetime of memories, not to mention an ongoing sense of belonging to the Crows community."

Crows Senior Coach Matthew Nicks praised Walker's leadership and character, noting that he "led through actions as much as words" and supported the club during both successful and challenging periods.
