Taza commemorates 71st anniversary of Liberation Army operations

The Taza province in Morocco commemorated the 71st anniversary of the launch of the first operations by the Liberation Army in the north of the Kingdom. Held on October 2, 2026, the event was organized by the High Commission for Veterans and Members of the Liberation Army in cooperation with the Taza provincial authorities.

Under the supervision of Mustafa Ktiri, High Commissioner for Veterans and Members of the Liberation Army, and Rachid Benchikhi, Governor of Taza, the program included visits to several martyr cemeteries in the communes of Taghzratine, Tizi, Selli, and Ajdir. These visits served to honor the memory of those who fought for national independence and sovereignty.

In Ajdir, officials inspected a plot of land designated for the construction of a historical memory space for resistance and liberation. The commemoration also included a celebratory speech festival and the honoring of former resistance members and members of the Liberation Army from the Taza region. Financial aid and social assistance were distributed to members of these families to recognize their historical contributions.
