Tazza: Song of Beelzebub film to conclude 20-year series
The film ‘Tazza: Song of Beelzebub’ is set to release on September 23, marking the conclusion of the 20-year ‘Tazza’ film series. Directed by Choi Kook-hee and based on the final installment of Heo Young-man’s original manhwa, this film departs from previous entries by offering a completely independent narrative that does not require viewers to have seen the earlier films.
Unlike previous installments that focused on Hwatu, this new chapter centers on poker and expands its setting internationally to include Japan and Vietnam. The plot follows Jang Tae-young (played by Byun Yo-han), a successful online casino entrepreneur, and his former friend Park Tae-young (played by Noh Jae-won), who stole everything from him. The two meet again in an overseas gambling arena to engage in a high-stakes battle of revenge.
The production features an international cast including actors from South Korea, Japan, and Vietnam, such as Miyoshi Ayaka and Ihara Tsuyoshi. Early audience reactions from previews have praised the film’s tension and its ability to engage viewers even if they are unfamiliar with the poker mechanics or the previous series.
