tbi bank introduces deposit options to counter inflation
tbi bank has introduced deposit options designed to protect savings against projected inflation. The bank’s mobile application offers interest rates of up to 3% on deposits, which the institution claims is currently the highest yield for savings products in Bulgaria.
This move comes as forecasts from the Bulgarian National Bank and the European Central Bank suggest average inflation may drop below 3% over the next three years. Lukas Tursa, CEO of tbi bank, noted that as inflation impacts household financial well-being, customers need opportunities to increase the value of their savings rather than letting them depreciate at 0% interest.
In addition to local currency options, the bank offers foreign currency deposits, including Romanian Leu (RON) with up to 6.5% annual interest, as well as US Dollars (USD) and British Pounds (GBP) with up to 3% annual interest, though exchange rate fluctuations may affect returns. The bank also provides a flexible savings account called ‘Kasichka’ with a 1% annual interest rate and full access to funds.
