TÜBİTAK 1001 Program Funds Two Turkish Research Projects

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) approved funding for two separate research projects under its 1001 programme. One project, led by Dr. Tayfun Çetin at Yüksekova Meslek Yüksekokulu in Hakkari, investigates photothermal black‑phosphorus quantum dots combined with MXene‑modified aerogel scaffolds to assess osteo‑immunomodulatory and antioxidant effects in a diabetic bone‑defect microenvironment (in‑vitro). The second project, titled “Comparative Study of Ethnobotanical Knowledge on Macrofungi and Lichens in Central Anatolia, Eastern Mediterranean and Southeast Anatolia (Kayseri, Yozgat, Kahramanmaraş, Mardin),” involves researchers from Erciyes University, Harran University, Munzur University and Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University. It will conduct field work in the four provinces to document traditional uses and cultural heritage of macro‑fungi and lichens, aiming to support biodiversity conservation and interdisciplinary scholarship. Both projects received support through TÜBİTAK’s 1001 – Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Programme.
