TÜBİTAK announces recruitment of 105 personnel for R&D centers

TÜBİTAK has announced the recruitment of 105 candidate personnel for its strategic research centers and institutes. In a departure from traditional public personnel hiring rules, candidates are not required to meet the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS) criteria. The positions are distributed across key institutes including SAGE (defense technologies), BİLGEM (informatics and cybersecurity), UME (metrology), MAM (basic sciences), and UZAY (space technologies). Eligible applicants must hold at least a four-year undergraduate degree from a recognized university in fields such as Computer, Software, Electrical-Electronic, Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace, Artificial Intelligence, or Cybersecurity Engineering.

On a broader scale, research and development (R&D) investment trends show significant global and domestic shifts. Globally, R&D spending reached approximately $3.8 trillion in 2024, with the US and China leading the sector. In Turkey, R&D expenditures rose to 651.8 billion TL in 2024, representing 1.46% of the GDP. Additionally, Türk Telekom has established the Türk Telekom R&D and Innovation Science Board to focus on future technologies, including 6G, artificial intelligence, and next-generation networks.
