TÜBİTAK brings science and technology workshops to rural Turkish students

Students in rural Turkish regions are gaining access to advanced technological training through initiatives supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK).

In Erzincan, the “Future Will Be Beautiful with Artificial Intelligence” project was implemented at a middle school in Yalınca village. Led by the Erzincan Science and Art Center (BİLSEM) in collaboration with Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University, the program provided 46 students from eight different villages with workshops on artificial intelligence, robotic coding, machine learning, and 3D design. The training included practical applications such as smart greenhouse systems and image processing.

Similarly, in Muğla, the “Bringing Science and Technology to the Village” project was conducted at Yeşilyurt Middle School in the Menteşe district. Coordinated by the Muğla Science and Art Center (BİLSEM) and involving academics from Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, the program offered students hands-on experiences with sky observation, microscopic examination, virtual reality (VR), and flight simulations. The initiative also included sessions for parents to raise awareness regarding digital addiction and safe technology use.
