TBMM resolves office dispute between CHP and YENI Party
The dispute regarding the allocation of office spaces within the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) between the Republican People's Party (CHP) and the YENI Party has been resolved following a decision by the TBMM Presidency.
Under the new arrangement, a significant portion of the symbolic and critical offices has been allocated to the YENI Party. Notably, the historic office previously used by Ismet Inonu has been assigned to the YENI Party. The CHP will retain the group management room and the office of one group deputy chairman.
The conflict arose after 91 CHP members of parliament joined the YENI Party. The CHP had previously petitioned the TBMM Presidency to retain the offices and corridors originally assigned to them, arguing that changes in the number of MPs should not automatically transfer existing group spaces to a new party. Following the Presidency's official notification, the two parties will now work side-by-side in the assembly.
