TBS documentary series ‘Birth Day’ to end after 20 years

The long-running TBS documentary series ‘Birth Day’, which has been broadcasting since April 2005, will conclude its more than 20-year history with its final episode airing on September 26.

The series finale will feature a close look at swimmer Rikako Ikee. The program will document her journey as she competes in the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, an event she has described as her ‘last Asian Games,’ following her previous battle with leukemia and her subsequent return to competitive swimming.

Following the conclusion of ‘Birth Day’, TBS will launch a new sports documentary series titled ‘BREAK’ on October 24. This new program aims to explore the truths of elite athletes through the perspectives of other top-tier professionals. The premiere episode will feature track athlete Ryota Yamagata being interviewed by former table tennis medalist Kasumi Ishikawa.
