TBV Lemgo Lippe loses test match to HC Kriens‑Luzern

TBV Lemgo Lippe recorded its first preseason defeat at the ALPLA Sommercup, falling 29‑30 (13‑15) to Swiss champions HC Kriens‑Luzern. After an early 3‑0 lead by new signing Levin Wanner, the Swiss side, coached by Andy Schmid and led by former Kiel captain Mykola Bilyk, took control and built a 13‑15 halftime advantage. In the second half, TBV rallied, narrowing the gap to 24‑25, but a missed chance and a penalty‑shot opportunity were thwarted when the Luzern goalkeeper saved the decisive seven‑meter throw, sealing the win.

Three newcomers – Levin Wanner, Domenico Ebner and Christian O’Sullivan – started for TBV under coach Florian Kehrmann, who praised his team's morale despite the loss. The German club will contest the third‑place match the following day against the loser of the THW Kiel versus ALPLA HC Hard encounter, with the game streamed live on Dyn.
