TCE-RO investigates R$ 8.6 million asphalt contract irregularity
The Court of Accounts of the State of Rondônia (TCE-RO) has launched a Special Account Audit to investigate potential irregularities in a contract held by the State Department of Highways and Transport (DER-RO). The investigation focuses on the machining and transport of asphalt concrete, with a potential damage estimate of approximately R$ 8.6 million.
A primary concern involves a payment of R$ 8,310,690.00 that lacks sufficient documentation to verify the actual weight of the materials supplied. While expert reports indicate that physical services were performed, the absence of reliable weighing records makes it impossible to confirm if the quantity of asphalt used matches the amounts billed in the invoices.
Additionally, the audit is examining the possible failure to withhold and collect R$ 290,874.15 in Service Tax (ISSQN) related to the contract. The process aims to identify responsibilities and ensure the correct application of public funds.
