TCE-SC suspends R$ 781 million urban cleaning tender in Xanxerê

The Court of Accounts of Santa Catarina (TCE-SC) has issued a precautionary suspension of a public bidding process in Xanxerê, estimated to be worth R$ 781 million. The tender concerns a 30-year concession for urban cleaning and waste management services.

The TCE-SC identified several potential flaws in the process, including the use of outdated demand studies, insufficient technical justification for the length of the concession, and issues regarding recycling targets. The Xanxerê City Hall has been officially notified and has ordered the suspension of all administrative phases of the process until the regulatory body's concerns are addressed.
