Tchibo integrates loyalty program into supermarket apps
Tchibo is expanding its digital presence by integrating its customer loyalty program directly into supermarket applications. This strategic move aims to counter competition from supermarket-owned loyalty programs and provides Tchibo with better insights into consumer purchasing behavior and real-time product availability in physical stores.
An agreement has already been reached with Edeka to allow Tchibo offers to appear within its app and facilitate the transfer of sales data. The online supermarket Picnic has already implemented this integration, allowing customers to link their Tchibo bonus programs within the Picnic app.
While other retailers like Kaufland allow customers to scan their Tchibo cards, they have no plans for a full integration with their own loyalty cards. Similarly, Rewe does not currently prioritize the integration of the Tchibo program into its app.
