Tchibo reports rising revenue despite falling operating profit

Tchibo reported an increase in revenue for the past year, reaching approximately 3.72 billion euros, which is about 360 million euros more than the previous year. This growth was primarily driven by the company's coffee business, while the non-food goods segment saw only slight increases.

Despite the higher turnover, the company's operating profit before interest and taxes (EBIT) decreased by 5 million euros to 162 million euros. This decline was attributed to effects related to coffee taxes. For the current year, Tchibo anticipates moderate growth but expects operating profits to continue to decline due to rising general costs and increasing procurement prices that cannot be fully offset.
