Táchira faces escalating public service crisis
Residents and businesses in the Táchira state of Venezuela are facing a severe deterioration in quality of life due to escalating failures in public services. Frequent and prolonged electricity outages, combined with water shortages, are paralyzing daily activities and commercial operations across multiple municipalities.
In the Junín municipality, residents report electricity being unavailable for most of the day, sometimes lasting from morning until evening. Similar patterns of instability are reported in the Bolívar municipality and the border regions, where some residents face double rationing periods within a single day. In the capital, San Cristóbal, constant suspensions continue to disrupt neighborhoods, with some areas receiving only six to seven hours of continuous power. These service interruptions, alongside economic instability, continue to impact the region's stability.
