Táchira to host 2nd International Aviturismo Congress in 2026
Venezuela will host the 2nd International Aviturismo Congress in Táchira on October 6 and 7, 2026. Held at the Hotel Tamá Eurobuilding in San Cristóbal, the event aims to promote nature tourism and position the country as a premier destination for birdwatching enthusiasts.
The congress will feature experts from Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador, focusing on bird conservation, study, and observation. The program includes conferences, business networking sessions, and field activities aligned with the ‘October Big Day’ global event.
Minister of Tourism Daniela Cabello highlighted Venezuela’s biological importance, noting the country ranks fifth globally in bird diversity with 1,433 species, including 51 endemic species. The government intends to leverage this sector to drive economic development, employment, and specialized tourism, noting that specialized birdwatching travelers can generate significant spending per trip.
