TCL C8L Mini LED TV Redefines LCD Performance with New Back‑light Architecture

TCL’s C8L Mini LED TV delivers a peak HDR brightness of up to 6,000 nits and more than 4,000 local dimming zones, while covering 100 % of the BT.2020 colour space. The model replaces the conventional LCD back‑light chain with a redesigned system that includes blue Mini‑LED chips, a super‑quantum‑dot layer, micro‑OD optics and a WHVA 2.0 Ultra panel, aiming to provide a cleaner, more accurate light source before it reaches the viewer.

Reviewers note that the impressive specifications translate into noticeably purer and more vivid images, especially when the source material is of high quality. However, they also point out that the real test for any TV lies in how it handles imperfect content; TCL’s processing pipeline must preserve image quality when the source signal is sub‑optimal. Compared with rivals such as Samsung, LG and Sony, the C8L’s combination of high brightness, extensive dimming and advanced colour management gives it a competitive edge in the premium Mini‑LED segment.
