TCL Chairman Li Dongsheng urges Chinese manufacturing to expand globally

At the 2026 Yabuli Forum Summer Annual Meeting in Chengdu, TCL founder and chairman Li Dongsheng emphasized that Chinese manufacturing must expand its global footprint to combat domestic overcapacity and intense competition. Li noted that TCL's overseas sales accounted for half of its revenue last year, highlighting the necessity of internationalization.

Li advocated for stable and continuous government policies to support enterprises going abroad, suggesting a negative list management system for foreign investment. He argued that core technologies and heavy assets should remain rooted in China to ensure security and stability while pursuing global growth. He also called for a stable legal environment to encourage private sector investment.
