TCL expands African footprint with Nigeria assembly plans and South Africa experience store

Consumer electronics group TCL announced two major moves in Africa. In Lagos, General Manager Daniel Ray said the company is evaluating local assembly of its AI‑powered home appliances in partnership with SIMS Nigeria, a step aimed at creating jobs and deepening local participation in its value chain. The initiative is part of TCL's broader strategy to grow its presence in the Nigerian market, which it regards as a strategic hub in the Middle East and Africa region.

Separately, TCL opened its first TCL Experience Store in Johannesburg's Cedar Square, South Africa. General Manager Alvin Wang highlighted the store as a way for South African consumers to interact directly with the brand's latest televisions, AI‑enabled washing machines, air conditioners and refrigerators. The outlet is intended to boost brand awareness and strengthen the retailer‑consumer relationship in a market the company deems important for its global growth plan.
