TCL highlights technical differences in Mini LED television technology
TCL is highlighting the technical distinctions within the Mini LED television market, specifically regarding backlight density and dimming zones. Patrick Chen, a product training specialist for TCL Electronics Australia, has urged retailers to educate consumers on why price variations exist between models. He noted that higher zone counts and full array local dimming are critical for achieving better contrast ratios, higher peak brightness, and reduced blooming or haloing effects around objects on screen.
In the consumer market, the TCL 75RM7L is featuring RGB Mini LED technology. Unlike standard Mini LED TVs that use blue diodes with a color filter, RGB Mini LED technology utilizes diodes that emit red, green, and blue light directly. This approach aims to provide purer, denser colors that maintain saturation at high brightness levels. The 75RM7L model is reported to feature 1,800 independent zones, a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, and a 144 Hz native refresh rate.
