TCL integrates Gemini AI into Google TV models

TCL Japan Electronics has begun rolling out support for ‘Gemini for Google TV’ across selected Google TV-equipped television models. This integration aims to transform the television from a passive viewing device into an interactive entertainment and lifestyle interface through Google’s AI assistant.

Users can utilize voice commands to engage in natural conversations with Gemini to find movies or shows based on mood, preferences, or even vague descriptions of a plot when a title is forgotten. The AI can also leverage the large screen to provide information through dialogue, incorporating related YouTube videos to help users learn about specific topics. Additionally, the integration allows for the control of the television itself and compatible smart home devices through conversational commands.

The rollout applies to specific 2026 models, including various SQD-Mini LED (X11L, C8L, and C7L series), RGB-Mini LED (RM7L series), 4K QD-Mini LED (A400 Pro and A400M series), and 4K QLED (A400 series).
