TCL unveils P80 smartphone series with AMOLED NXTPAPER displays

TCL has introduced the P80 series of smartphones, featuring the world’s first AMOLED displays utilizing NXTPAPER technology. This new display approach uses specialized layers and filters to create a matte, anti-glare surface that mimics the appearance of paper while reducing harmful blue light to 2.9%.

The lineup includes the P80 Ultra, which features a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with a 3200-nit peak brightness and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The Ultra model is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Elite processor, a 5800 mAh battery, and a camera system including a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. The series also includes the P80 Pro and a standard P80 model.

Users can toggle between standard viewing and specialized modes like ‘Max Ink’ or ‘Paper Mode’ via a physical slider, which adjusts colors and reduces distractions to enhance reading experiences.
