TCL Leads Global TV Market in Mini LED, Large‑Size and Google TV Segments in 2025

Market research firm Omdia reports that TCL captured the top global positions in three high‑value TV categories for 2025. The company shipped 3.95 million Mini LED sets, holding a 31.1 % share of that market, and led the large‑size segment (75 inches and above) with 4.94 million units, representing 19.1 % of worldwide sales. TCL also topped the Google TV ecosystem, increasing volume from 3.64 million units in 2021 to 19.99 million units in 2025.

The firm’s rapid growth coincides with its new partnership with Sony, which has sparked consumer debate over data privacy, manufacturing locations and pricing. While Sony’s Bravia brand will continue to handle firmware and image processing, TCL will assemble the hardware, raising questions about where user data is processed and how cost savings will affect retail prices. Analysts note that the alliance may delay the release of Sony’s next QD‑OLED model as supply‑chain adjustments are made.

These developments underline TCL’s expanding influence in the premium television market and the broader industry implications of cross‑border collaborations between Chinese manufacturers and Japanese brands.
