TCL unveils MSQLED85L premium TV with SQD-MiniLED technology

TCL has introduced the MSQLED85L, a premium television model within its 2026 lineup. Developed in close collaboration with the panel division CSOT, the device features a new generation of LCD screens known as SQD-MiniLED. This technology utilizes an upgraded Quantum Dot color filter and MiniLED backlighting with local dimming to provide enhanced contrast, brightness, and color, aiming to compete with OLED image quality.

The MSQLED85L features a minimalist design with slim bezels and a central pedestal. The audio system is developed in partnership with Bang & Olufsen, featuring two bass speakers. The television runs on the Google TV interface and includes four HDMI 2.1 inputs, though only two of these support 144Hz signals, while the remaining two are limited to 60Hz. For gaming, the 144Hz panel supports VRR, FreeSync Premium Pro, and Dolby Vision.
