Néstor Girolami takes TCR South America pole in Posadas
The TCR South America championship held its eighth round at the Autódromo Rosamonte in Posadas, Argentina. Néstor Girolami, driving for Hyundai MSA, secured the pole position for Race 1 after a session heavily impacted by weather conditions.
During the qualifying process, heavy rain and strong winds forced the cancellation of the Q2 session. As a result, the times recorded during Q1 were used to determine the starting grid. Girolami set the fastest time in Q1 with a 1:34.063, followed by Raphael Reis and Gabryel Romano.
Earlier in the weekend, Girolami also led the shakedown session, establishing a pace of 1:34.245. Championship leader Leonel Pernía placed eighth during the shakedown. The event also noted the absence of Nelson Piquet Jr., who was replaced by Carlos Okulovich for the Honda Racing entry.
