TCS and SRF test safety and quality of children's bicycles

The Touring Club Switzerland (TCS) and SRF's 'Kassensturz' conducted a safety and practical test on ten popular 20-inch children's bicycles, intended for children aged six to eight.

The Cube Numove 200 Disc and the Woom Go 4 shared the top position, each scoring 77 out of 100 points. The Cube model was noted for its hydraulic disc brakes and adjustable handlebar, while the Woom Go 4 was the lightest model at 7.6 kilograms.

Other notable results included the Scott Contrail 200, which scored 73 points and offered a mid-range price option. In contrast, the Stitch Stargirl, the least expensive model at 129.90 francs, ranked last with 56 points due to its high weight of 11.5 kilograms.

Key evaluation criteria included weight, ergonomics, equipment, practical usability, and braking performance. Testers emphasized that lightweight frames and adjustable components are crucial for children's safety and maneuverability.
