TCS subsidiary HyperVault to build 1GW AI data center in Hyderabad
HyperVault, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has announced plans to develop a massive artificial intelligence data center campus in Hyderabad, Telangana. The project involves an investment of up to Rs 70,000 crore ($7.4 billion) and is expected to span 264 acres.
The facility is designed with a planned capacity of 1 gigawatt (GW) to support high-density GPU deployments for AI training, inference, and complex high-performance computing workloads. The campus will cater to frontier AI companies, hyperscalers, and global enterprises. To manage the intense heat generated by large-scale computing, the infrastructure will utilize liquid-cooling technology and incorporate green energy and water-neutral design principles.
Developed in phases to match customer demand and technological evolution, the project is expected to create approximately 7,000 direct and indirect jobs. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy described the initiative as “historic,” noting that it positions Hyderabad at the forefront of the global AI revolution. The development is also expected to stimulate growth in allied sectors, including power, networking, construction, and engineering.
