TCU defeats Arkansas State 31-7 before Big 12 play

TCU defeated Arkansas State 31-7 at Amon G. Carter Stadium in their final non-conference matchup before beginning Big 12 play. Quarterback Jaden Craig completed 21 of 29 passes for 337 yards and three touchdowns.

Ed Small recorded a career-high 164 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Kari Ashley contributed 87 yards on five receptions. On the ground, Jeremy Payne led the Horned Frogs with 86 rushing yards on 24 carries. The victory extended TCU's scoring streak to 423 consecutive games.

Despite the win, questions remain regarding the offensive consistency. While the statistics show high yardage, observers noted issues with field vision and an interception by Craig. The offensive line averaged 3.4 yards per carry, and the team looks toward the return of Jordan Dwyer for upcoming conference play.
