TCU dismisses safety Jacob Fields following alleged teammate assault

TCU has dismissed senior safety Jacob Fields following an alleged aggravated assault of a teammate in the school's locker room. The university stated the dismissal was due to a “violation of team rules.”

According to campus police logs and incident reports, the alleged assault occurred on August 13. The report characterized the incident as an “alleged aggravated assault with hands, feet or fists.” While the victim's identity remains redacted, sources familiar with the matter identified Fields as the alleged assailant.

Fields, a former Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year at Louisiana Tech, was a projected starter for the Horned Frogs. His agent, Philip Miller, released a statement noting that much of the information circulating on social media is “false or purely speculative,” but confirmed that Fields respects the university's decision to move forward.
