TCU launches public survey on fuel quality and monitoring
The Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) is conducting a public survey regarding the quality, inspection, and monitoring of fuels across the country. This initiative is part of an ongoing audit into the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) and its oversight capabilities.
The investigation follows reports of adulterated fuels and suspicions of organized crime involvement in the sector. The survey aims to support TCU inspections, expand the Fuel Quality Monitoring Program (PMQC), and improve how the ANP handles complaints. The audit specifically examines potential gaps in monitoring coverage, operational restrictions, and communication difficulties between the ANP and the public.
