TCU prepares for matchup against No. 10 BYU amid performance struggles

The TCU Horned Frogs enter a critical matchup against No. 10 BYU with a 2-2 record for the 2026 season. Following losses to North Carolina and UCF, the team has faced internal scrutiny, leading to a players-only meeting to address performance concerns.

Head coach Sonny Dykes noted that the players took initiative to discuss their lack of performance. Dykes acknowledged that confidence has been an issue and emphasized that the coaching staff must take responsibility for player development and improvement in specific areas.

Discipline has emerged as a significant hurdle for the program. TCU currently ranks 113th nationally in penalties per game, averaging 8.3, a decline from the 26th ranking seen during their 2022 national championship run. Additionally, the team continues to struggle with its running game and offensive line consistency.
