TCU to Kick Off Season in Dublin, Ireland Against North Carolina

The TCU Horned Frogs will open their 2026 football season with a Week 0 matchup against the University of North Carolina at the Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin, Ireland on Aug. 29. Coach Sonny Dykes said the team had a "clean start" in practice, noting no turnovers, false starts or off‑side penalties, and highlighted the impact of new offensive coordinator Gordon Sammis and freshman quarterback Jaden Craig.

TCU Director of Athletics Mike Buddie called the Dublin game an opportunity to expand the university’s brand globally and give student‑athletes a unique experience. The Aer Lingus Classic, now in its sixth edition, has become a premier international showcase for college football, drawing fans from both the United States and Ireland.

The game marks the first time the Horned Frogs will travel to Ireland for a season opener, reflecting growing ties between TCU, Fort Worth and the host city.
