Tczew Bridge reconstruction progresses in Poland

The reconstruction of the historic Tczew Bridge is underway after the Tczew County signed a contract with construction firm Strabag. The agreement, worth nearly 34 million PLN, was signed on 18 March and the construction site was handed over on 30 March. Strabag is currently pouring concrete for the foundation of a new pier on the Vistula island and installing cladding on a recently built approach slab. The firm also plans to dismantle the post‑war ESTB span, which will later be replaced by a replica of the historic span. The contract provides a ten‑month schedule, with a target to finish by February, though Strabag aims to complete the work earlier. Funding comes from the previous government’s Polish Ład programme, with additional contributions from the regional authority (1.5 million PLN) and the city of Tczew (1 million PLN). The next phases of the bridge’s reconstruction remain undecided pending further government approval and financing.
