TDI-Brooks awarded survey contract for Delfin LNG project

Delfin LNG has awarded TDI-Brooks the contract for offshore geophysical and geotechnical survey services for the Delfin Deepwater Port Project located off the coast of Louisiana. Serving as the prime contractor, TDI-Brooks will execute the full scope of work and manage the geotechnical investigation alongside subcontractor Tolunay-Wong Engineers, Inc. (TWE).

Geophysical data acquisition is set to begin in late August using the R/V Brooks McCall, with the geotechnical phase expected to follow in late September. This survey program aims to provide essential seabed and subsurface data for the development of the port infrastructure.

The Delfin LNG project is intended to be the first U.S. offshore liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility to utilize floating production technology. Situated at a brownfield deepwater port in the Gulf of Mexico, the project will utilize existing infrastructure, such as the UTOS pipeline system. The full development plan includes up to three floating LNG (FLNG) vessels with a total capacity of approximately 13.2 million tonnes per annum (mtpa), with the initial unit targeting 4.4 mtpa.
