TDK Corporation has launched the edgeRX Pro, a high-performance sensor node designed to expand its SensEI edge intelligence portfolio for predictive maintenance. The device integrates multiple sensing technologies, including vibration, acoustic, magnetic, temperature, and rotational motion sensing, alongside a 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) and a digital microphone.

Built for harsh industrial environments, the edgeRX Pro features an IP67-rated enclosure. It offers flexible power options, supporting both a battery life of up to 10 years for low-maintenance deployments and USB wired power, which allows for higher sampling frequencies and more robust on-device AI models.

The technology is aimed at sectors such as manufacturing, energy, warehousing, and HVAC. Potential applications include detecting compressed air leaks, monitoring oil and gas pipelines, and analyzing rail or bearing defects through advanced edge AI processing.
