Te Arikinui Pullman Auckland Airport opens as new five-star hotel

The Te Arikinui Pullman Auckland Airport has opened as a new five-star terminal hotel located a short walk from the international terminal. The hotel features a premium design heavily influenced by Maori culture.

The building's exterior is designed to resemble a traditional korowai (cloak), utilizing black tiles to represent feathers and over 1,500 gold triangular panels to mimic the cloak's lining. The interior design incorporates local elements, such as terrazzo tiles embellished with seashells gathered by local tribe members and floorplans oriented toward significant historical locations like Whangaparaoa and Waitemata Harbour.

Guest rooms are equipped with soundproof windows to mitigate noise from the airport's curfew-free operations. The decor includes custom carpets reflecting the Manukau Harbour and earth-toned bathrooms.
