Tea and coffee prices rise in Turkey amid increasing costs
Rising costs have prompted the Gaziantep Coffeehouse Chamber to update its price tariffs. Mustafa İsabeş, President of the Chamber, announced that tea prices in tea houses have increased from 12.5 TL to 15 TL, while coffeehouse prices have risen from 15 TL to 20 TL. İsabeş noted that the economic crisis is deeply affecting small businesses, making it difficult for tradespeople to maintain operations.
In the retail sector, tea prices continue to vary significantly by brand and weight. As of late September 2026, market data shows a wide range of pricing for popular brands. For instance, ÇAYKUR products range from approximately 230 TL to 440 TL depending on the specific variety and weight, while brands like Lipton and Doğuş also show distinct price points per kilogram. Consumers are advised to compare unit prices per kilogram to ensure value when shopping.
