Tea factory fire in Çayeli, Rize causes significant damage

A fire broke out in the packaging department of a fresh tea factory in Aşıklar Village, located in the Çayeli district of Rize. The blaze, which started for unknown reasons in the early morning, spread rapidly due to the highly flammable nature of tea dust.

Firefighting teams from the Rize Municipality and Çayeli Municipality, supported by crews from neighboring districts, worked to bring the flames under control. While the fire caused significant material damage to the packaging section and other parts of the facility, no casualties or injuries were reported. Production at the factory has been temporarily suspended as damage assessment begins.
