Slovenian deputies Tea Košir and Boris Mijič depart parties
Slovenian politics is seeing shifts in the National Assembly as two deputies depart their respective parties.
Tea Košir, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Health, has announced her departure from the Demokrati party. She intends to return to her parliamentary seat as an independent deputy. Her move follows her previous resignation as State Secretary, which is still awaiting formal government dismissal. Her departure will result in the Demokrati party losing one seat, and the governing coalition losing one vote in the assembly.
Boris Mijič has resigned from his position as a deputy following his expulsion from the Resnica party. The party's executive board had previously called for his resignation and sought to prevent his appointment to a delegation at the Council of Europe. Mijič's departure follows controversies regarding his company's financial liabilities and discrepancies in his reported educational background. He is expected to be replaced in the assembly by Slavko Moharič.
